An experienced and detail-oriented Accounting and Tax Compliance Specialist. The accounting and tax compliance specialist will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing support to our clients in Birkirkara. This role requires a high level of organization, proficiency in accounting software, and a strong understanding of tax laws.

Duties and Responsibilities: As an Accounting and Tax Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for:

Assisting clients in the upkeep of day-to-day accounting records

Preparation of corporate tax returns and tax refund claim forms

Monitoring end-of-month routines, including preparation and review of periodical management accounts and reports

Preparation and review of VAT returns and VAT recapitulate statements

Handling monthly payroll tasks

Producing ad-hoc reports, including cash-flows, budgets, and forecasts

Staying updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation

Planning and organizing your portfolio to ensure consistent meeting of targets and service standards

Playing an active monitoring role to influence and shape the firm’s development and workload

Assisting in ad-hoc projects and other duties assigned by the Team Leader, Manager, and Partners.

Requirements and Skills for accounting and tax compliance specialist

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting and tax compliance in Malta

Experience at manager level would be considered an asset

Proficiency in computerized environments, including Microsoft Office suite and accounting software (preferably Sage Line 50 Accounts)

Organized and methodical approach with attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with peers, teams, and clients

Ability to prioritize commitments and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

Flexibility in starting time, from 08:00 till 09:00, 40 hours per week with a 30-minute break to be taken at your pace

Performance Appraisal in Dec/Jan

CPE hours plus Memberships paid

Sponsor ACCA, first sitting of any exam plus lectures will be paid by the client with 3 days study leave.
