Ravensdown Ltd is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Agri Manager for a permanent position based in their Balclutha Store. As an Agri Manager, you will play a vital role in advising and assisting farmers in optimizing their agricultural practices towards sustainability and reducing environmental impact. You will provide expert advice, services, and products to help farmers maximize value from their land. This position requires building strong relationships with farmers based on trust, credibility, and mutual respect. The role primarily focuses on arable cropping customers in the surrounding area.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a customer visitation program, assessing farmers’ needs, and recommending appropriate products and services to achieve sales targets.
Utilize available technology to enhance profitability and environmental leadership for Ravensdown shareholders.
Create plans to reduce environmental impact and optimize land value.
Continuously develop skills and knowledge to meet end users’ needs and expectations.

Skills and Experience Required

Sound knowledge of farms systems especially arable cropping
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
Understanding of changing landscape of New Zealand environmental policy and its implications for farmers
Tech savvy with knowledge of agricultural technology systems
Ideally a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related qualification
