JOB TITLE: Airport Terminal Cleaner
LOCATION: Gatwick Airport
PAY RATE: £11.95 – £13.00 per hour
SHIFT PATTERNS: Day Shift & Night Shift available, 40 hours per week
Job Overview:
As an Airport Terminal Cleaner at Gatwick Airport, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality cleaning services to client facilities within and around the terminal building. You will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in various areas of the terminal.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning all areas of the terminal(s): You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the entire terminal building, including public areas, restrooms, corridors, and other designated spaces.
Hoovering, mopping, and sanitizing: You will perform tasks such as vacuuming, wet and dry mopping, and sanitizing surfaces as required to ensure a clean and safe environment.
General cleaning services: This will involve tasks like emptying bins, dusting surfaces, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the assigned areas.
Monitoring and maintaining sanitation: You will be responsible for regularly monitoring the cleanliness and organization of your designated areas, ensuring they meet the required standards.
Correct usage of chemicals and cleaning solutions: It will be your responsibility to use cleaning solutions and chemicals correctly, following the prescribed procedures and safety guidelines.
Assisting team leaders/supervisors: You may be required to work closely with team leaders or supervisors to ensure efficient service delivery and address any specific cleaning needs or challenges.
Additional duties: You should be prepared to take on additional cleaning duties as needed, which may include responding to specific cleaning requests or assisting with special projects.
Training and compliance: You are expected to attend monthly training sessions provided by your supervisor or line manager to enhance your skills and knowledge in cleaning procedures and maintain compliance with company standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
Good inter-personal and communication skills: You should possess excellent communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and clients effectively.
Ability to use initiative and prioritize tasks: You must be proactive in identifying cleaning tasks and prioritizing them based on urgency and importance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team: You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a cleaning team.
Approachable and courteous manner: Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor is essential when interacting with airport staff, passengers, and clients.
