Celerity Consulting Group, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our utilities consulting team. The Engineering Manager position supports Celerity’s Utility Practice and Engineering Design team. This role oversees projects and project teams, serves as the client liaison, performs advanced analysis, designs, calculations, and reviews all work before submission.

Responsibilities:

Manage several projects and project teams simultaneously to ensure work is done accurately, timely, and up to the client specifications.

Manage client relationship by providing excellent customer service skills and serving as the client point of contact for the project.

Perform Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) on all Engineering deliverables provided by Celerity prior to delivery to the client.

Perform engineering design and calculations and ensure the team is performing these tasks correctly and appropriately.

Prepare training materials and best practice documents (process documentation or procedures) for the Engineering and Design team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Team Supervision: Supervise project managers and other staff involved in project delivery. Foster a collaborative environment where each team member contributes effectively to project success.

Project Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive view of project progress (Cost, Scope, and Schedule). Collaborate with the team to ensure projects stay within budget and meet established timelines. Address any deviations promptly.

Resource Allocation: Assign staffing resources to projects based on workload and expertise. Monitor chargeability and ensure accurate and timely time entry.

Process Development: Establish and maintain tools and processes to streamline Engineering and Design workflow.

Recruitment and Training: As needed, interview, hire, and train new employees.

Performance Evaluation: Regularly appraise employee performance. Provide constructive feedback and timely evaluations to staff.

Rewards and Discipline: Recognize outstanding performance through rewards and address any disciplinary issues. Consistency and fairness are key.

Business Development: Identify opportunities through good client management and relationship building and act as the Business Development Lead for the Celerity Engineering and Design Team.

Requirements for engineering manager

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

Master’s degree in engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in a Non-Engineering Field and a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.

Current Professional Engineering License in California.

10 years of relevant experience in related engineering fields including, but not limited to, Civil, Mechanical, Utility, GIS, Mapping, Surveying, Construction, or Estimating.

Knowledge of Code Of Federal Regulations and ASME Standards in regards to Natural Gas Pipelines.

Ability to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assigned projects.

Ability to read and understand advanced engineering documents, including drawings and specifications.

Knowledgeable in best practices regarding QA/QC.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook), AutoCAD, MicroStation CAD, and graphic information system (GIS) software.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Flexible, analytical, and willing to tackle challenging work.

Ability to work independently (with minimal supervision) and collaboratively in an open environment.
