- Tourist Visa: India offers tourist visas for individuals who wish to visit the country for tourism, sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, or casual business meetings. Tourist visas are usually granted for relatively short periods, such as 30 or 60 days, and may be single or multiple entry.
- Business Visa: If you’re planning to visit India for business-related purposes, such as meetings, conferences, or exploratory business ventures, you would require a business visa. This visa is intended for non-employment activities.
- Employment Visa: Foreign nationals seeking employment in India need an employment visa. This visa is usually granted to skilled professionals, specialists, or individuals filling specific roles in Indian companies.
- Student Visa: India offers student visas for international students who wish to pursue education at recognized educational institutions in the country. A letter of acceptance from the institution is typically required.
- Research Visa: Researchers, scholars, and individuals engaged in research activities in India can apply for a research visa. This visa is usually granted for the duration of the research project.
- Medical Visa: Individuals seeking medical treatment in India can apply for a medical visa. A letter from a recognized medical institution in India is usually required, detailing the nature of the treatment.
- Journalist Visa: Journalists and media professionals visiting India for journalistic purposes would require a journalist visa. Documentary proof of being a media professional is usually necessary.
- Conference Visa: Delegates or participants attending conferences, seminars, workshops, and similar events in India can apply for a conference visa.
- Residential Permit (RP): Foreign nationals residing in India for extended periods may need to obtain a Residential Permit. This is a separate requirement from a visa and involves registration with local authorities.
