Nairobi — Kenya has been elected to chair the United Nations World Tourism Group’s (UNWTO) Committee on Tourism and Competitiveness, solidifying its place as a frontrunner within the world tourism trade.
The announcement was made on the first assembly of the committee held on the UNWTO headquarters in Madrid, Spain.
The Ministry of Tourism stated that Kenya gained the place after two rounds of voting, defeating robust bids from Thailand and Malta.
