Job Purpose
The Regional Bureau (RBJ) based in Johannesburg is responsible for supporting operations across 12 countries in Southern Africa and Indian Ocean States. The region provides vital life-saving food assistance to approximately 4 million people per month through various programs such as food distribution, cash-based transfers, school meals, and nutrition support. To strengthen its workforce, the RBJ is currently seeking applications for the position of Talent Acquisition Specialist. The role involves supporting hiring managers in implementing talent acquisition strategies, sourcing and selecting candidates, and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Key Responsibility
Collaborate with hiring managers to establish an implementation plan for delivering recommended changes as per the Regional Bureau staffing plans.
Manage the full life cycle of the recruitment process, from identifying staffing needs to sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates.
Design relevant sourcing approaches to identify, attract, and recruit the best candidates that meet the hiring needs, including supporting employer brand visibility and organizing/attending career events.
Support recruitment activities with a focus on inclusive sourcing, ensuring consistent, transparent, and effective HR processes aligned with WFP rules and regulations.
Partner with managers throughout the recruitment process to ensure efficiency, integrity, and adherence to internal recruitment procedures and talent standards.
Identify, design, and implement different selection tools, processes, and practices to diversify selection methods and approaches.
Contribute to enforcing Talent Acquisition best practices and support the implementation of various Talent Acquisition initiatives in Country Offices/Regional Bureau.
Review the pool of qualified candidates at key stages in the recruitment process and take corrective measures to maintain a balanced pipeline aligned with the organization’s diversity targets.
Build the interviewing skills of first-time hiring managers and conduct refresher sessions for existing interviewers across the region.
Support Country Office and Regional Bureau HR colleagues in building talent acquisition capabilities.
Collaborate with RBJ functional heads to design and develop various rosters of expert profiles or gender-specific candidates, act as a point of contact/high-touch engagement for roster candidates, and build new rosters aligned with RBJ Transformation themes/outcomes.
Analyze workforce and recruitment data and metrics to identify gaps and diversity recruitment opportunities, collaborating with country HR teams to address key challenges and leverage opportunities.
Stay updated on the latest talent acquisition tools, best practices, and initiatives to ensure up-to-date skills and practices in the region.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the organization.
Qualification Requirements:
University degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum 6 years of relevant professional work experience in Human Resources
Strong knowledge and expertise in talent acquisition and sourcing
Track record of successful project delivery
Ability to work remotely with diverse teams
Change and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
International HR work experience is preferred
Excellent command of English, and working knowledge of a second UN language (preferably French) is desirable
